Process
It all begins by simply reaching out to me. You and I will have a conversation, or a meeting. Here we talk what you have in mind and your ideas. In this initial meeting we might exchange pictures, inspirational pieces or whatever helps me get a good idea of your vision. It’s also quite possible you don’t have an idea and at this time we together come up with your vision. Either way the goal is to have a clear idea of what I need to accomplish. Once I clearly understand the scope (size, time frame, detail level, materials, etc) of the project, I will send you a formal proposal which will include all the details (timing, materials, process, and any special requirements) of the project.
Pricing is based off the details provided in my formal proposal which we will go over together. However, cost may vary by plus or minus 10%. Should the project scope expand or change while in process, additional pricing may apply.

Detail – Lots to Factor
I want to spend some time talking about detail and expectations. I can definitely paint at any level of detail that you want, however, the surface on which I paint directly affects the quality of detail I am able to achieve. The smoother the surface, the more level of detail can be accomplished. For example, hyper realistic pieces do not work on rough textured walls as you can imagine. However, a high level of detail can be achieved on a rough textured wall if the subject a matter is larger than life sized, and viewed from a distance.
Another factor to consider, the level of detail often dictates the time frame. The more detailed a piece, the longer the time frame. Just because a project could be small, the level of detail needed could cost potentially as much as a project that is large in nature but the level of detail is not as extreme.
Example: A portrait or landscape that is 20 x 20 that is meant to be viewed from a close range will likely take as long,
if not longer than a mural with only medium detail.

Rates
How Do I Charge: Each project is unique and is priced as individually to what your needs require.
Cost factors are based on a variety of factors as I mentioned above: time and or area involved, detail level, supplies/equipment needs, other [drive time may be a consideration] and other variables. All foreseeable costs will be discussed, detailed and included in project estimate and contract. I do not have any set rates as far as my time and resources are concerned since all of my projects are 100% custom and are priced accordingly. Depending on the scale of the project I may discuss progress payments to cover time and materials, but this is something that we will discuss once we finalize our agreement together.
I try to be very fair in my pricing and give everyone the opportunity to have original artwork at a reasonable price.
Art is not just for elite, and everyone should be able to enjoy!

~Let the fun begin~
Once we connect and decide on a concept my research and sketching phase begins. At this point I will require a deposit to cover sketching. This deposit will be applied to the total cost of the project and varies from project to project. At the onset I will determine at that time what this deposit will be and we will discuss this before any work starts.
If the project does not move forward (agreement/contract signed, timing agreed upon, etc.), the sketch payment is retained to cover my costs for preliminary work done and will be non-refundable.

Materials
A week or two prior to beginning your project I may require a deposit for the materials (this goes toward your final cost and will be detailed in our contract), but this will be based on the individual project.

Sketches
My sketch process involves up to 3 sketch changes. After 3 sketches each additional sketch will be charged individually based on time. Your initial sketch payment is applied toward your total purchase price for a project if it reaches completion.

Q and A
1. Will I travel? - Yes, but note that traveling expenses will apply. These will be not be marked up in any way.
2. How long does a mural take? It is entirely dependent on the scope of the project. There are many factors. However, if I am onsite at your home professionalism is my utmost priority, and I try to be in and out as quick as possible. This is why I charge for the initial sketch and material phase, so when I get to your home or business I come ready to paint so I can be in and out with as little disruption as possible.
3. When do I paint? I am pretty flexible. Typically, a normal work week (Monday thru Friday) 8am - 5:30pm. I am flexible and am able to work outside those days/times, as sometimes I get into the flow of my project and prefer to stay until I hit a creative wall. Timing will be agreed upon in the contract and we will work together to find the best timing for both of us.
4. What If I finish the mural and you do not like it? Well thank goodness this has never happened yet. This this why we go through a sketch phase where you will have a clear idea of what you be seeing on the wall or other before any work commences. Throughout the process I will keep you updated with what how the project is progressing. Since my goal is to blow you away with your mural or other project, I am very willing to make changes on the fly. However if the scope, detail lever, and size changes dramatically, pricing may be subject to change. Example: I am painting a landscape theme, and you decide to you would like several animals. This would change the price because animals take more time to paint. However, on that same landscape you want to change colors, or add more trees and flowers I am able to do this with usually with no charge.
5. What is the process for a commissioned painting? The process is the same; there will be sketches and a contract. The difference is, I am painting it in my studio so timing is typically not a factor unless there’s a deadline I need to meet.
6. Can you be involved? Yes, I am a huge advocate of total family involvement! Personally I am always involving my own kids, doing family projects, and making messes. I would love to involve you in your own commissioned work. If the design is for a child I love for them to help with the process, or even paint a portion of the mural. One of my goals is to make this as personal, unique, and as special as possible.
7. Is there a size limit to a mural, or a piece of commissioned work? No. Murals do not have to encompass an entire room, or even an entire wall. Whether you’re looking to have someone paint a sweet little tree in your new nursery, or want your business to have just a little something on the wall or maybe you want entire space completed no size is an issue.
8. What if you want a mural sized painting, but you do not want it painted directly on your wall? I got you covered! I just completed a 16 foot painting that fits directly in the space desired. I have the ability to do the same for you. We will customize your commissioned piece to work together. Cost for installation is not included, however, I am happy to work with you to find the best way to fit your needs. I have many resources that I have made over the years and have the ability to work with them to provide professional assistance if needed. These are details that we can discuss more during the initial stages but just know that anything is possible!
9. How long will my mural last? Your mural should last years and years and years! I use high quality paints with high quality pigments, and I use a water based sealer over your mural add another layer of protection. You will be able to wipe and clean the walls and the paint will not come off. The paint is very durable. However, if the wall sustains damage via children, moving furniture, and just life I do not guarantee against that.
